This was coursework for part of my MA. We were asked to create a game using a metaphor. Since I enjoy creating playable experiences relating to real-life topics, I decided to use my anxiety as a topic in hopes to create something that allows other people to find comfort.
Metaphor: Anxiety, to me, feels like you're trapped in a room, and there are doors around you that you can use to exit, but can't get through the doors.
The aim of this playable experience is to help you find that 'thing' that gives you tranquility, that helps you find the calm to be able to open the door.
The tea will represent something different for everyone and is our freedom from anxious feelings. The doors will also represent something different and are the things that block us from pushing forward.
I hope you enjoy this experience of how it feels to me and you find comfort in knowing you're not alone in your journey. We can make it through the doors. I promise you.
